Netflix buys New Mexico production studio

October 9, 2018 - By Justin Balkhi

Netflix Company is on the rise. It attracted new audience every hour across the world, their movies and shows are popular, and their plans are astonishing.

Now they are trying to buy a new production studio from Albuquerque, New Mexico, called ABQ studios. Some experts say it is not a random move, as it is the same place where Breaking Bad’s Walter White is considerably buried all his barrels of money.

It is a sacred place for the company, as they are going to build, or better say recreate their production hub, on the place where it is all started.

Netflix plans to give 1 billion dollars on production there during the next 10 years. We all know why they are trying to buy this place. Perhaps they believe that Walter White’s fortune that he buried on this land may bring them luck as well.

They already have everything except the studio. While they have giant soundstage property near its headquarter in Los Angeles, this will be their first real studio.

Netflix is familiar with New Mexico since they shot their Godless and Longmire Emmy winner, and the movie with Adam Sandler, The Ridiculous Six. And now they are planning to shoot there Daybreak apocalypse drama, Chambers and Messiah.

This Monday Netflix has officially announced that they almost signed the deal with ABQ, and now they are on the final stage of negotiations. There were no particular information on terms of the deal, no details on its financial side.
